Dear Friends/Partners and Supporters,

On 28 November 2007, I laid the foundation of the Board for Integrated Rural Development (BIRD) as a passionate freelance consultant in the development arena. I had a dream — to create an organization that could respond to the multidimensional challenges of rural Bangladesh with innovation, inclusion, and integrity.

Within a short time, our vision began to take shape. In 2008, BIRD received its first registration from the Directorate of Youth Development, and on 18 August 2009, we achieved registration from the Department of Social Welfare. These milestones were more than formalities; they were the stepping stones that allowed BIRD to grow as a credible, community-rooted institution.

With the trust of partners and donors, BIRD soon began securing funding both from within Bangladesh and internationally. We were honored to receive support from GlobalGiving (USA), the Japan Water Forum, the 1% Development Fund, and several national agencies. These contributions enabled us to launch programs that reached rural families with hope, skills, and resilience.

In 2010, I had to step down from my active leadership role due to my appointment as an Assistant Director at Bangladesh Bank (the central bank of Bangladesh). While this transition required me to leave day-to-day management, I never left my faith in the mission of BIRD. Since then, the organization has been led with dedication by our current Chairman Md. Titumir Mollick, who has carried forward the vision with commitment and care.

Looking back, I feel proud of how far BIRD has come. What started as an idea in my heart has now grown into a living institution that continues to empower rural families, build resilient communities, and inspire national and global partnerships.

BIRD is not just an NGO — it is a movement. It represents the strength of rural Bangladesh and the belief that lasting change is possible when innovation, compassion, and collaboration come together.

As its founder, I remain deeply connected to BIRD’s journey and will continue to support its vision for the next 25 years and beyond. Together with our partners, donors, and communities, I am confident that BIRD will keep building pathways of dignity, opportunity, and resilience for generations to come.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all who have walked with us and warmly invite new friends, donors, and partners to join this journey of transformation.

With humility and enduring commitment,

Tutul Hossain Mollick
